Structure |
In an application, data can be stored manually using screens and reports or data can be stored via automated data exchange. An application performs excellent both in environments with a heavy information infrastructure with fully equipped ERP systems as in environments that can suffice with a limited automation level. Because of this changing context, a lot of effort has been done to the flexible structuring of automatic data exchange. Because of this changing context, a lot of effort has been done to create a flexible structure for automatic data exchange.
The application has a so-called four-layer structure (see image), consisting of:
•Connection layer: User interfaces with windows and reports.
•Access layer: connection between the device of the user and the central servers.
•Business layer: Looking at data using business view and report views.
•Storage layer: storage of data in tables .
Except these three layers, the application also has a historical storage. See Historical Storage
