The driver `Xaf32ForInvantiveBusiness` reads XML audit files in version 3.2, the Dutch "XML Auditfile Financieel". It needs no credentials: what it reads is a folder of files on the device. ## Pointing the Driver at a Folder The folder is given as the property "XML Directories" of the data container, either in the log-on window or in the [[Settings]] file. "XML File Extension" limits which files of that folder are read; `*.xaf` reads every audit file and a narrower pattern keeps files of another version out. See [[Point the XML Audit File Driver at a Folder]]. ## Companies One company is offered per audit file, named after the company identifier and the financial year the file covers. A folder holding the files of several years of the same company therefore offers one company per year: ![[20260903-business-companies.png]] ## Coverage An audit file is a financial export, so the financial subjects carry data and the others do not. Filled are the companies, the counterparties, the general ledger accounts, the journals, the years and periods, the VAT codes, the cost centres, the cost units and the transactions with their lines. "Persons", "Articles", "Warehouses" and "Projects" open as an empty list. Documents are available only when the extensions of Exact Online are switched on through the property "use-exact-online-extensions", since it is those extensions which carry the attachments in the file. ## The Line Number The line number of a transaction line is a text rather than a number. An audit file may hold a composite value such as `0:1`, which is the transaction and the line joined, and the format declares the field as a text. Sorting on the column is therefore alphabetical.
