The data of a platform is divided into companies. Depending on the platform a company is a division, an administration or one audit file, and Invantive Business shows the data of one company, of several, or of all of them at once. The choice is made in "Company" at the top left of the [[Explorer]]. Next to the companies themselves the list holds two entries: - "All": every company the connection offers; - "Default": the companies the platform itself marks as the ones to start with. Changing the choice empties the tree and builds it again, so that the subjects show the data of the companies now chosen. ## The Partition Column Every subject carries a first column with the company a row belongs to, so that rows of several companies stay apart: ![[20260903-business-general-ledger-transactions.png]] The column appears only when more than one company is selected. With a single company chosen it is left out, because it would repeat the same value on every row. ## What the Subject Is Called The subject showing the companies carries the name the platform uses. Where the platform offers none, the general term "Partitions" of Invantive UniversalSQL is used instead. The choice in the tool bar is labelled the same way. ## Which Companies Are Available The companies come from the platform, through `BUS_PARTITIONS_R`, and are shown as the subject "Companies"; see [[Invantive Business/Subjects/Companies|Companies]]. What a company is called differs per platform: an Exact Online division carries its division number, and an XML audit file carries the company identifier and the financial year of the file.
