"Companies" holds the companies the connection offers, read from `BUS_PARTITIONS_R`. It is the list behind the choice made in "Company" at the top left of the window.
The list carries the code, the name and the moment of creation:

What a company is depends on the platform: a division on Exact Online, a company on Visma.net, one audit file on the XML audit file driver. See [[Invantive Business/Concepts/Companies|Companies]].
## The Name of the Subject
The subject is named after what the platform calls the unit its data is divided into, so the entry in the tree is not the same word everywhere. An XML audit file and Exact Online both call it a company, Visma.net calls it a company as well, and a platform which offers no name of its own for it - the sample data is one - falls back on "Partitions", the general term Invantive UniversalSQL uses. The subject is the same one in every case and reads `BUS_PARTITIONS_R`.
