This section explains the Invantive Control for Excel tab in the ribbon in Microsoft Excel. The model user can enter and delete data and set parameter values. The “Invantive Control for Excel” tab The following image shows that the “Invantive Control for Excel” tab is divided into the groups Document Management, Synchronise, Publish, Model Information, Block Actions, Field Actions, Connection and Help. An explanation follows for each button.

### Document Management

The “Document Management” group contains the following button:
- Open Template from DMS: Opens a pop-up to open documents from the Invantive Producer DMS; see [Open Template from DMS](invantive-control-open-template-from-dms).
### Synchronise

The “Synchronise” group contains the following buttons:
- Sync: Synchronise the model workbook with the fact database. Download all new facts and upload the changes to the fact database. The “Sync” button contains the following functions:
-  Upload Only: Upload the changes from the current model worksheet to the fact database.
-  Download Only: Download all new facts from the fact database into the current model.
-  Publish to New Model: Publish the model to a new file, containing only the model without the facts.
- Pending Changes: Show the pending changes that have not yet been synchronised with the fact database. The number in brackets shows the number of changes that have not yet been synchronised; see [Pending Changes](invantive-control-openstaande-wijzigingen).
### Publish

The “Publish” group contains the following button:
- Publish: Publish the contents of this Excel worksheet to a new worksheet. You can exclude confidential data from the original worksheet from the new worksheet; see [Publish](invantive-control-publish).
### Model information

The “Model information” group contains the following buttons:
- Model information: The first line shows the name and version of the model and the second line shows the author and company.
- Parameter values: Open the parameter screen to set a filter for retrieving data from the workbook; see [Parameter values](invantive-control-parameter-values).
### Block actions

The “Block Actions” group contains the following buttons:
- Add Row: Add a new row after the current row in the selected block.
- Remove Row: Remove the selected row from the current block.
### Field Actions

The “Field Actions” group contains the following button:
-  Select a Value: Open a pop-up in which ., see [Select a Value](invantive-control-kies-een-waarde).
### Connection

The “Connection” group contains the following buttons:
- Connect: Connect to a fact database. If there is a connection to the database, the button displays the username and server, see [Connection](invantive-control-connection). Below the “Connect” button is the following function:
-  Configuration: Configure the settings for Invantive Control for Excel, see [Configuration](invantive-control-configuration).
-  Preferences: Configure your personal preferences for Invantive Control for Excel, see [Preferences](invantive-control-preferences).
