Invantive Estate for Windows shows every subject of the repository in one of three kinds of screen. A kind of screen works the same way for every subject, so learning it once is enough for all of them. The three kinds are: - [[Invantive Estate/Screens/Lists|Lists]]: the rows of one subject next to each other in a grid, such as the persons of an organisation. - [[Summaries]]: one row, with its own fields and with everything that hangs off it on tabs. - [[Edit Screens]]: one row, opened to be added or changed. The three follow on from each other. A list opens a summary for the row chosen. Both a list and a summary open an edit screen. Closing an edit screen returns to the screen that opened it, with the change already in view. All three are reached from the [[Invantive Estate/Screens/Navigation Tree|navigation tree]] of the main window, which lists the subjects and their rows. The rights of the roles of a user decide what is shown. A button, a tab or a whole screen for which the user holds no right is left out instead of shown greyed, so a screen offers what is actually reachable. Those rights themselves are granted in two screens that fall outside the three kinds, because they hold a grid of combinations rather than rows of one subject: see [[Authorisation Matrices]]. Invantive Estate for Outlook uses the same three kinds of screen.
