Invantive Query Tool Multi-Platform is distributed as a ZIP file per operating system and processor architecture. It is self-contained: the ZIP holds the application together with the UniversalSQL engine and all drivers, so nothing else has to be installed. To install the product perform the following steps: - Download the ZIP file for the operating system and the processor architecture of the device from [[Invantive Query Tool Multi-Platform/Invantive Query Tool Multi-Platform|the product page]]. - Extract the ZIP file in a folder of choice. - Start `Invantive.QueryTool` from that folder. On Microsoft Windows the file is named `Invantive.QueryTool.exe`. - Register a licence as described in [[License Registration]]. The configuration folder is created on first use. It is `%USERPROFILE%\Invantive` on Microsoft Windows and `$HOME/Invantive` on Linux and MacOS, and it is shared with the other Invantive products on the device. Its location can be moved with the environment variables described in [[Folders]]. ## Databases The product reads the databases to log on to from the [[Settings]] file in the configuration folder. Three routes lead to such a file: - The device already runs another Invantive product, in which case the databases are present and no further action is needed. - The databases are managed centrally in [[Invantive Cloud/Invantive Cloud|Invantive Cloud]] and downloaded from there. - The databases present on the device are found by the product itself, as described in [[Discover Databases]].
