The language of the user interface is chosen under "Language" in the "Window" menu, on every platform; see [[Main Window]] for where that menu is. The language in use carries a mark. The window is relabelled straight away; texts which report something that already happened, such as the messages and the status bar, keep the language they were written in. ![[20260806-qtm-language.png]] The languages offered are the display languages allowed by the licence, each written in its own language with the name in the language in use between parentheses, for instance "Nederlands (Dutch)". The choice is remembered per user in [[Invantive UniversalSQL/General/User Settings|User Settings]] and applies to every Invantive product of that user on the device. It is applied again the next time the product starts. The list of languages is determined by the licensing layer. As long as no database has been opened on a device that never logged on, the list can be empty; it fills as soon as the licence is known. The languages allowed can be limited further with the environment variable described in [[UI Language]].
