Invantive Query Tool is distributed as an MSI installer for Microsoft Windows. Install it as follows: - Download the installer from [[Invantive Query Tool/Invantive Query Tool|the product page]]. - Run the MSI file and follow the steps of the installer. - Start Invantive Query Tool. On a device which holds no licence yet, the licence window opens first; see [[Invantive UniversalSQL/General/License Registration|License Registration]]. The configuration folder is created on first use. It is `%USERPROFILE%\Invantive` and is shared with the other Invantive products on the device; its location can be moved with the environment variables described in [[Folders]]. The databases to log on to are read from the [[Settings]] file in that folder and the credentials from the [[Invantive Keychain]] next to it. A device which already runs another Invantive product therefore needs no further preparation.
