Invantive Runtime is the application in which plug-ins delivered by Invantive are run. The plug-in provides the functionality; Invantive Runtime provides the window it runs in, the log on, the licence check and access to the data. A plug-in has the full functionality of [[Invantive UniversalSQL/Invantive UniversalSQL|Invantive UniversalSQL]], the procedural option Invantive PSQL and [[Invantive Script/Invantive Script|Invantive Script]] at its disposal, and can therefore extract, transform, analyse, report and load data on the platforms reachable through Invantive UniversalSQL, including the XML audit file formats XAF, XAS and XAA. ## Highlights Invantive Runtime offers: - Execution of plug-ins delivered by Invantive, without those having to be installed separately. - Access to over 100 database and cloud platforms through Invantive UniversalSQL. - Reading of the XML audit file formats XAF, XAS and XAA. - A free licence for public data and the XML audit file formats. ## Download Invantive Runtime is available as a [download](https://go.invantive.com/download/invantive-runtime). ## Supported Platforms Invantive Runtime is available on Microsoft Windows only. ## Configuration Databases and data containers are defined in a [[Settings]] file and credentials are held in the [[Invantive Keychain]], both shared with the other Invantive products on the device. The product can be configured further through [[Environment Variables]]. ## Release Notes Invantive Runtime release notes are available [online](https://go.invantive.com/releasenotes/invantive-runtime). ## Topics The following topics cover typical use: - [[Invantive Runtime/Installation|Installation]]: downloading and installing the product; - [[Invantive UniversalSQL/General/License Registration|License Registration]]: registering a licence and agreeing to its conditions, once per device; - [[Invantive Runtime/Log on|Log on]]: choosing a database and filling out the properties of its data containers; - [[Invantive Runtime/Main Window|Main Window]]: the ribbon, the status bar and the list of plug-ins; - [[Invantive Runtime/Command Line Options|Command Line Options]]: starting the product with options, and marking a special run; - [[Plug-ins]]: what a plug-in is, where it is held and what it contains; - [[Running a Plug-in]]: the window in which a plug-in is run; - [[Editing a Plug-in]]: adjusting a plug-in, its scripts and their parameters; - [[Invantive UniversalSQL/Invantive UniversalSQL|Invantive UniversalSQL]]: the SQL dialect and the engine used for all data access; - [[Invantive Script/Invantive Script|Invantive Script]]: the scripting language available to a plug-in; - [[Settings]]: the file in which databases and data containers are defined; - [[Invantive Keychain]]: where the credentials of a database are stored; - [[Licensing]]: which functionality, platforms and limits a licence gives.
