Invantive Runtime opens the log on window at start-up, once a licence has been registered as described in [[Invantive UniversalSQL/General/License Registration|License Registration]]. The window is the same in the other Invantive products for Microsoft Windows. ![[20260809-runtime-log-on.png]] Logging on runs as follows: - Choose the database under "Database". The databases are grouped, and the number behind a group name is the number of databases in that group. The chosen database is repeated on the header of the list and its description appears under the list. - Fill out the properties of each data container of the chosen database. Which properties appear depends on the platform of that data container: an XML audit file asks for "XML Directories" and "XML File Extension", whereas a cloud platform asks for the location of the server and for credentials. Properties which are needed rarely sit under "Advanced". - Tick "Automatically Connect" to let a next start log on to this database without the window appearing. - Choose "Connect". The databases come from the [[Settings]] file in the configuration folder, which is shared with the other Invantive products on the device. The star in front of a database adds it to the favourites; see [[Favorite Databases]]. The box with the magnifying glass above the list narrows it down to the databases whose name contains the text entered, the name of the group counting along. Escape empties the box, and the database already chosen stays chosen. Available from release 27.0. The spanner at the bottom left opens the diagnostics window, which reports what the device, the licence and the installation say; see [[Invantive UniversalSQL/General/Diagnostics|Diagnostics]]. It is reachable before logging on, since logging on is what often fails.
